Robes

There are several names for robes including women’s dressing gowns, housecoats and negligees.

A matching robe is the perfect addition to a nightdress, camisole set or pyjamas dependant on the time of year and your preference. They are really handy to grab when you have a surprise visitor at your door and can come in beautiful soft silk, lace, tulle or any light material for the summer and perhaps a thicker one on cold nights.

Make sure that your robe fits well and is not too tight or too loose as this will spoil the shape of the garment and will not be comfortable.  It needs to close fully around you with a little bit extra to fit well.  Then the belt should be tied securely to keep the robe closed.

The robe comes in all shapes including the popular kimono style that usually has a tie belt and wide sleeves often made of silk.

The robe can also feature sleeves that are loose at the top of the arms and gather from below the elbow to a tight cuff often known as Gigot sleeve or Leg O’Mutton sleeve.

If you are looking for something a little more risqué for the bedroom we suggest a lace or see-through robe to tease and please to suit your mood..
